Blackwater Meadow

Just a stones throw away from our 6 person apartment at Blackwater is The Mere. A massive lake ideal for any fishing enthusiast.

This fantastic body of water houses Bream, Carp, Perch, Pike & Roach and is at your disposal from just £2 per person for the whole day from dawn until dusk.

If you’d like to fish on the canal just outside of the marina, you’ll need to obtain a Waterway Wonderers License from the Canal & River Trust.

Wrenbury Mill

Wrenbury is only a few miles away from Cool Acres Fishery, comprising of 3 beautiful lakes with various fish of various sizes within, including Carp weighing in at up to 30lb’s, Wels Catfish, Roach and Chub.

Cool Acres is open from 8am until 8pm with one of the lakes remaining open over night for those of you that want to stay late to catch the big ones! Visit the Cool Acres website for more information and pricing.

If you want to stick to the canals just outside of the marina, you’ll need to purchase a pass from Lymm Angling Club who control that section of the canal.

Goytre Wharf

The beauty of the Monmouthshire & Brecon canal is an ideal setting for any fishing connoisseur.

The stretch of canal by our cottage is governed directly by us, so all you have to do is get all your gear ready, and head to the wharf reception and purchase a day pass.

We have several dedicated fishing platforms along the canal too allowing for a comfortable relaxing days fishing.

New Mills

The Peak Forest canal by our cottages in New Mills isn’t governed by any club so all you’ll need is a Waterway Wonderers License from the Canal & River Trust to fish there.

You’ll find Pike and Perch around this stretch, some of which can be rather large! If you want to venture a little further away from the marina, why not explore some of the great river fishing areas within the Peak District. For more information, go here.
